If the Moon Calls You Back

A quiet reading

I saw galaxies in your eyes, worlds we might build, laughter moving through the hallways of a shared life. I saw us, not perfect, but possible, not easy, but worth meeting honestly.

And yet, your heart is not ready to land. It is still learning its own weight, still asking for solitude. Love cannot be planted where consent has not made room.

So here I stand with a heart both open and breaking, loving you enough to release the future I had begun to name. I will not bend your timing to fit my hope.

What is real must still be free. And so I free us, not from care, but from possession.

If the winds bring you back, we will meet as the people we have become. If they do not, I will still live, still love the path beneath my feet, still thank you for the room you opened in me.

Letting go is not a bargain with fate. The moon owes the tide no reunion. It is simply the courage to stop holding time hostage, and let the shore receive whatever comes next.

Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
