Innocence in Shadows: Holding Light While Understanding Darkness

A quiet reading

There is a place within each of us Where innocence still resides, A pure, untainted light That remains untouched By the darkness we have known.

And yet, We are no strangers to the shadows. To live is to know both the light and the dark, To walk in the spaces where innocence meets experience, Where purity encounters the depths of the human soul.

But there is beauty in this duality, In the way the light can hold the darkness Without being consumed by it, In the way innocence can remain, Even after we have walked through the fire.

To see the innocence in the world, In ourselves, Is not to ignore the shadows, But to understand them, To hold both in balance. It is to see the child within, Even in the midst of pain, To recognize the purity That exists alongside the complexity.

For darkness is not the absence of light, But the place where light is born, Where it shines the brightest. In understanding the darkness, We do not lose our innocence We deepen it, We enrich it with the wisdom of experience, With the knowing that even in the shadows, The light remains.

And in this knowing, We walk through life with open eyes, Seeing both the innocence and the darkness, Holding both with grace, And understanding that they are not separate, But parts of the same whole.

Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
