The Flower of Your Family Tree

A quiet reading

Dear man, your wife is not a flower whose blooming proves your care. She is not the warmth of the home for you to tend and receive.

She is soil and seed, weather and gardener, a life with roots of her own. Her joy is not your achievement. Her sorrow is not your failure to lead.

You can still bring water: a gentle touch that is wanted, a listening ear, the daily labor no one applauds. You can ask what support means instead of deciding for her.

Let strength be mutual. Let direction be discussed. Let neither voice become the sky above the other.

Celebrate her femininity if that is how she names herself, not as a duty to nurture, but as one part of a person whose forms are hers to choose.

Marriage is a shared garden. Both hands meet the soil. Both people need seasons of growth, rest, challenge, and wildness.

Be mindful of your words. They can lift or wound, and so can hers. Practice kindness in conflict. Practice repair without keeping score.

Dear man, do not ask her to bloom for you. Stand beside her as she becomes, and let her stand beside you.

If a family tree grows from this love, may its strength come not from one flower, but from two lives rooted in freedom, care, and equal light.

Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
