The Myth of Solidity

A quiet reading

We reach for softness when life becomes too heavy, hoping sorrow might loosen its grip around the day.

Some things do soften when the mind grows quiet. A name loses its sharpness. A story opens another door. The hand unclenches for a single breath.

But pain is not imaginary because thought can shape it. Loss leaves an empty chair. The body carries what happened. Loneliness can enter the marrow without asking what we believe.

The couch, the lover, the wound, each gathers meaning from our stories, yet each also meets us with a reality not ours to command.

Pause, if pausing is available. Let the names rest for a moment. Notice what remains: breath, weight, the room around you, the part of you still witnessing.

You are not only the dream, and not entirely the dreamer. You are a life inside the mystery, sometimes bound, sometimes free, sometimes needing another hand to find the door.

No wall becomes air because we deny its stone. Still, even stone has edges, and somewhere along them light may enter.

Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
