A quiet reading
Life is a breath, a flicker of light in a wide sky. We move through days as if they are endless, until a small goodbye reminds us they are not.
Within this brief passage, we leave echoes in the people we love: the warmth of a glance, the comfort of a steady hand, laughter lingering after the room grows quiet.
At the edge of a life, no one can know which memory will rise. Perhaps a name, a face, a task unfinished, or simply a hand nearby.
So ask while there is time: Did I make room for love? Did I listen when it mattered? Did I let the chase for more carry me past the people already beside me?
One day, those who love us may stand in the space we leave behind. They will remember more than one feeling, more than one version of who we were.
Love them now, not from guilt, not as if every moment must be perfect, but because attention is one way we make a life visible.
Say I am sorry when it is true. Say I love you when it can be heard. Put down the work sometimes and let an ordinary hour be enough.
Time will move on. What remains is not ours to control. Still, we can leave tenderness where our hands once rested.
Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
