A quiet reading
We are like trees, You, the cypress, majestic, resilient, And I, the oak, strong, unwavering. We grow beside each other, But our roots do not tangle. For love is not about losing ourselves in each other, But about growing strong In the light we share, While never casting shadows on one another.
You are free to stretch your branches to the sky, And I will do the same. For in the space between us, The light dances, And it is this light that nourishes our love, Allows it to grow, To thrive, To reach the heavens.
Let us give to each other, But not take. Let us share our bread, But not eat from the same loaf. For love is not the merging of two into one, But the celebration of two souls Who choose to grow side by side, In the light of their own truth.
You are your own tree, I am mine, And together, We create a forest of love, Where freedom is the soil, And the divine is the sun. In this forest, Our love grows strong, Deep, And free.
Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
