Through the corridors of time, an eternal lover calls, or so the heart imagines when ordinary love cannot hold all its longing.
This lover is not flesh, not a hidden being who knows me better than I know myself. It is a presence I meet inwardly, made from memory, hope, and the wish to be fully known.
Sometimes I call it soul. Sometimes the Divine. Sometimes it is only silence answering with my own breath.
The lover does not wait in another world as my reward. It walks nowhere without me. It is the capacity for tenderness I carry into this one life.
In its imagined embrace, I remember what I seek: love without possession, care without erasure, a home that does not require another person to complete me.
The echo may be eternal. I cannot know. But today it asks something simple: bring the love you long for into the way you meet what is here.
