The Fiction of Us

A quiet reading

There is a space between memory and truth a thin veil woven from longing and loss where we paint the past in softer hues and script the present to feel more alive

We tell ourselves stories not because we wish to deceive but because reality in its raw form feels too vast, too unscripted, too silent

So we fill the spaces with fiction turning pain into poetry turning love into legend turning ourselves into characters more worthy of the life we wish to live

Between you and me there is a space where perception bends where truth wears a thousand faces where I am villain, hero or stranger depending on the light that falls upon me

You see me not as I am but as the reflection of your own fears your own dreams, your own untold stories

And yet somewhere beneath the narrative beneath the embellishments and erasures there is something real a pulse, a presence, a silent knowing

Beyond the illusions, beyond the words we are simply two beings breathing, witnessing, becoming

Perhaps the greatest act of love is to meet one another in this space without the need to rewrite but to rest in the truth of what is unpolished, unscripted, undeniably real

For in the space between what is and what seems there is a quiet kind of magic not in the stories we tell but in the moment we stop telling them in the moment we simply see

Take a moment before choosing what comes next.
